Introduction: Located in the heart of Bolton, Uniforms for Kids is a beacon of hope and support. As a non-profit organization dedicated to providing school uniforms to underprivileged children, our mission is simple: to ensure that every child has the opportunity to attend school with pride and dignity. To bring our mission to the digital world, Bolton Web Designers, the parent company of Bright Horizons, partnered with us to create a brand-new website. This case study takes you through the journey of how we, a team of passionate web designers, collaborated with Uniforms for Kids, a subsidiary of Bolton Web Designers, to launch their online presence from the ground up.

Background: Uniforms for Kids, a subsidiary of Bolton Web Designers, is a new and promising initiative that’s eager to make a positive impact in Bolton’s community. Our goal is to remove the barriers that prevent children from accessing quality education by providing them with school uniforms. To achieve this, we needed a strong online platform to connect with donors, volunteers, and those in need. As web designers, we saw the opportunity to leverage our skills to make a meaningful difference in our community, under the umbrella of our parent company, Bolton Web Designers.

Objective: Our primary goal was to create a website that would enable Uniforms for Kids, with the support of Bolton Web Designers, to reach out to donors, volunteers, and families in need. This new website would not only showcase our mission but also provide a seamless platform for donations and volunteer sign-ups. We aimed to create a digital presence that reflects the compassion and dedication that drives both organizations under the Bolton Web Designers umbrella.

Challenges:

  1. Starting from Scratch: As a new non-profit, Uniforms for Kids, in collaboration with Bolton Web Designers and Bright Horizons, was starting with no prior online presence, donor network, or established support.
  2. Visual Identity: Crafting a design that effectively communicates our mission and the impact of our work was a challenge.
  3. Donation Integration: Implementing a secure and user-friendly donation system was crucial to support our cause.

Our Approach:

  1. Understanding the Community: We began by conducting research to understand the needs of the community and the potential impact of our initiative.
